- Accommodation: el hotel, el camping (campsite), el albergue juvenil (youth hostel), alquilar un apartamento (to rent a flat), una casa rural (a holiday cottage in the countryside), en casa de mis tíos (at my aunt and uncle's).
- Activities: tomar el sol (to sunbathe), bañarse en el mar (to swim in the sea), hacer turismo (to go sightseeing), ir de compras (to go shopping), probar la comida típica (to try the local food), visitar monumentos.

- El año pasado fui a Italia con mi familia. Nos alojamos en un hotel. Lo pasé fenomenal (I had a great time).
- Preterite for what happened: visité, comí, fuimos. Imperfect for descriptions: era bonito, hacía calor, el hotel estaba cerca de la playa.
- El año que viene voy a ir… / iré… (next year I'm going to go / I will go). Mis vacaciones ideales serían… (my ideal holiday would be…).
