On the day
Collect your results
Your school tells you when to come in. Bring your phone in case you need to call a sixth form or college.
Check the grade boundaries
Boundaries come out on results day. See how close you were to the next grade.
Grade boundariesThink about a remark
Just below a boundary? Ask your school about a review of marking quickly: the boards set deadlines, and grades can go down too.
Plan a resit if you need one
Maths and English Language can be resat in November. In England you keep studying them until you get a 4.

What the grades mean
GCSEs are graded 9 to 1, with 9 the highest. A 4 is a standard pass (about the old C) and a 5 a strong pass. A 7 is about the old A, and a 9 is higher than the old A*. Combined Science gives two grades, such as 6-5.
